In 1970 UM students went on strike to protest war, racism and other
social ills. This is a chronology of the strike originally published in
the Radical Guide to the University of Maryland.
Out of the often chaotic demonstrations and meetings that accompanied the Days of May came the five demands of the strike. They are good introduction to the radical politics of the time. We have the first 2 demands explained in detail. The rest will follow as time permits.
