Raul Rizik was a student activist at the University of Maryland. Born in the Dominican Republic, he came to UM in 1965 to study speech and drama. In 1973, he was threatened with deportation because of his legal non-violent opposition to the Viet Nam War. After a years long struggle, Raul finally gained his US citizenship. He now works as an actor and translator in the Los Angeles area.
